We are seeking a Trades Assistant to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be supporting RCOH CEMAT Mechanical Group conducting maintenance, repairs, installation and testing of nonnuclear equipment

Assist trades team by working on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization. Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software onboard Aircraft Carriers. Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions. Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignment. Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver's license and must provide own hand tools. Must be able to follow safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD confidential security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment. Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment. Must be able to provide hand tools per trade designation. Must be a U.S. citizen. Preferred Requirements
Candidates who have graduated from and/or completed a vocational school, apprenticeship program or a skilled trades certificate program are preferred. Candidate with a current or active DoD clearance preferred. Candidate with a current OSHA 10 Maritime Certification. Candidate with a NAVSEA Cableway Improvement certification. Candidate with previous Multi-Pin Connector experience. Previous Knowledge of Navy Tag Out program, NSTM 300, and 3M manual. Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Most work is performed aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States. Benefits
