Join the HII Mission Technologies team. Mission Technologies works in the only shipyard to execute the Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) of a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. The mid-life RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems. RCOH ensures the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities needed for success in the remaining 25 years of service. We are seeking a Trades Assistant to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be supporting RCOH CEMAT Mechanical Group conducting maintenance, repairs, installation and testing of nonnuclear equipment. Essential Job Responsibilities

Assist trades team by working on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization. Perform a variety of maintenance and technical support on shipboard systems, integrated systems, and related equipment/software onboard Aircraft Carriers. Assist in troubleshooting and diagnosing malfunctions. Perform duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignment. Minimum Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent. Must have a valid driver’s license and must provide own hand tools. Must be able to follow safety procedures to ensure a safe and secure work environment. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD confidential security clearance and maintain clearance level throughout employment. Must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date and maintain credentials throughout employment. Must be able to provide hand tools per trade designation. Must be a U.S. citizen. Preferred Requirements

Candidates who have graduated from and/or completed a vocational school, apprenticeship program or a skilled trades certificate program are preferred. Candidate with a current or active DoD clearance preferred. Candidate with a current OSHA 10 Maritime Certification. Candidate with a NAVSEA Cableway Improvement certification. Candidate with previous Multi-Pin Connector experience. Previous knowledge of Navy Tag Out program, NSTM 300, and 3M manual. Physical Requirements

Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States. Compensation and Benefits

The listed salary range for this role is intended as a good faith estimate based on the role's location, expectations, and responsibilities. Base pay range: $23,883.00 - $38,000.00 per year.
