Experienced Financial Analyst, Structured Products (Portfolio Valuation) – New York Responsibilities
Analyzing and valuing various structured products, loans, and other illiquid securities Determining valuation assumptions based on historical performance, collateral type, and economic scenarios Using a discounted cash flows framework to derive value indications at appropriate market yields Performing market research; calibrating proprietary valuation models to reflect market-based assumptions Reviewing and compiling published financial information (industry research, remittance data, Bloomberg data) across asset classes Assisting in the preparation of client deliverables including pitch materials and information requests Participating in due diligence meetings and assisting in responding to auditor questions Presenting valuation analyses and conclusions to review committees and clients’ senior management Performing financial-statement and other quantitative and qualitative assessments Researching and providing initial drafts on economic conditions, industry trends, and investment attributes of illiquid securities Assisting with sales and marketing initiatives for prospective and existing clients Providing ad-hoc research and analytics for FVA project teams Qualifications

The Financial Analyst will primarily support Structured Products valuation professionals in the Portfolio Valuation & Advisory Services practice and will gain broad exposure to a wide range of assets. The following qualifications are required: Analyst candidates should have 1-3 years of work experience Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in finance, accounting, business, applied mathematics, statistics, engineering, or equivalent quantitative field Fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory, methodologies, and applications Understanding of basic probability and statistical concepts Strong analytical abilities including the ability to model discounted cash flows Strong problem solving skills and ability to work through complex financial models Strong knowledge of Excel Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to prepare reports and presentations Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with team members and to work independently in a fast-paced environment Exceptional work ethic and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple projects and interact with clients and internal management Flexibility to travel to client sites for due diligence meetings as required Knowledge of multiple valuation techniques (desirable) Knowledge of various structured products (RMBS/CMBS, ABS, CLO) (desirable) Knowledge of and experience with statistical packages and data sources (Intex, Bloomberg) (desirable) Python/VBA skillset (desirable) Compensation And Benefits

The firm’s salary range for this role at posting time is: 70,000 to 120,000 USD. Actual salary at hire may vary based on qualifications, skills, experience, service line, and location.
