Our compensation and benefits programs are market driven and competitive, with excellent family friendly policies and flexible working provisions.## **Job Description**Sompo has a unique opportunity for a **Senior Property Risk Control Field Specialist** in our **Risk Control Division.***Combining decades of experience and deep industry knowledge with collaborative and practical risk management programs, Sompo’s Risk Control experts monitor emerging trends and risks and work with clients to minimize their loss potential and stay ahead of the unexpected. We take a collaborative approach to provide our clients with risk control services specific to their business. We work with each insured to tailor our recommendations and identify cost-effective solutions for mitigating risks.*We are seeking a bilingual **Senior Property Risk Control Field Specialist.**
This position can be remote, working from home, or in an office. Preferred placement is in either Texas or California.The Risk Control Field Specialist will provide risk improvement consultation to large and middle market commercial customers in our **Property Business Unit** in both the US and Mexico and provide added value to our clients. The focus of this position is to evaluate the processes in place, conduct on-site visits of existing and prospective clients and aid the underwriters in the selection and pricing of an account.
The Risk Control field specialist will also be responsible to track trends at an account level and communicate effectively with our clients and brokers. Candidate must have proficiency in property loss control skills.* **Responsibilities:*** Prioritization and evaluation of new and renewal work volumes to meet the goals of the department* Candidate should possess a comprehensive understanding of the following areas: fire protection, property construction protection and exposures, business interruption exposures and controls* Ability to create client facing reports* Conduct surveys at client locations to determine potential hazards and risk factors to be considered in underwriting/risk selection* Analyze loss trends, recognize opportunities to provide risk control products and/or services which can help reduce losses* Review of Engineering Reports* Ability to travel as needed in both the US and Mexico* Attend client/broker meetings, lunches, dinners, and other social outings as applicable* Expand existing relationships with existing and new prospective clients* Ensures compliance with all codes and standards and keeps abreast of any changes which pertain to loss control* Explore new technologies for delivering loss control services* Responsibilities may include the production of thought leadership articles or creation of LC library resources* **Qualifications*** Undergraduate degree in engineering, Science, or another related field. Possessing relevant professional designations or certifications such as, Engineer in Training (EIT) Professional Engineers (PE), CFPS or ARM is highly desirable* At least 5-7 years of risk control experience* Experience with fire protection required* Bilingual abilities required; Excellent verbal and written communication skills required in English and Spanish* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)* Ability to plan strategically and prioritize workload to meet production and management objectives* Ability to be a team player* Ability to travel 50%Sompo International offers a competitive compensation and benefits package commensurate with experience.Salary Range: $110,000 – $150,000 Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.At Sompo, we recognize that the talent, skills, and commitment of our employees drive our success.
