Job Description
Assist in routine operations of the Decision Support department and complete special projects as requested.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in healthcare, business, accounting, or a related field.
Experience in accounting, finance, cost accounting, and/or healthcare preferred. Knowledge in and experience in the application of technology and computer systems; strong Excel skills and experience with healthcare decision support systems (EPSi or Strata) preferred.
Required Licensures / Certifications / Registrations
Certified Public Accountant preferred, but not required.
Skills and Abilities
Ability to use spreadsheet, decision support, and statistical software packages to accurately analyze financial data, spot trends, develop forecasts and pro formas. On the basis of these results, write reports, create presentations, and provide comprehensive conclusions. Maintain knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the fields of technology, business, and finance as related to the medical industry. Ability to respond to ever-changing needs and situations.
Job Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
•Prepare statistical and financial information as part of the monthly financial reporting process
•Assist in preparing the annual budget
•Perform variance analysis between actual and budgeted results and monitor for trends
•Prepare, analyze, and interpret financial data to develop meaningful analysis to support organizational decisions
•Collaborate with clinical staff, operational staff, and management at all levels of the organization
•Independently perform other special projects as needed

This position is subject to inside environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions, not necessarily from temperature changes. Daily interaction with other staff within the Decision Support department. Frequent contact with department directors and upper-level management for obtaining and reporting information used in decision making. Occasional need to be able to train others in performing tasks and understanding information.
Physical Capabilities
Must be able to read printed materials and computer screens. Must be able to transact business in person and on the phone. Must be able to converse in person and on the phone. Must be able to pick up printed material and the phone. Must be able to reach across printers to retrieve printed material. Must be able to lift minimal weights. Must be able to retrieve files or books in lower drawers and shelves. Must have hand mobility in order to key data. Must be able to transport themselves to printers.
