Senior Accountant, External Reporting
Location: Morristown, NJ
Salary: to $115K plus bonus compensation

Why this opportunity? The Senior Accountant will play a key role in the client’s external reporting group. This position will have responsibility for ensuring compliance with SEC reporting guidelines and regulations. Will be required to stay current with technical accounting and financial disclosure guidance issued by the SEC and the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB). The role will also be responsible for researching and analyzing technical accounting/reporting issues.
What will be expected of me?
Conduct research and analysis of complex technical accounting and financial reporting issues
Present critical issues and their proposed resolution to leadership and external auditors
Continually assess the impact of accounting pronouncements on the business
Partner with the business and align with corporate in support of the month-end close and related management reporting
Evaluate derivatives and hedge accounting treatment utilized in contracts
Ensure corporate accounting policies are in accordance with SEC and GAAP requirements by remaining up-to-date on new and proposed accounting pronouncements
Assist with prep and review of SEC filings
Provide necessary documentation to the external auditors
Work on special projects as needed
What qualifies me for this position?
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
3+ of Public Accounting experience with SEC client experience
CPA preferred
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and SEC financial reporting requirements
Excellent written and communication skills
