Overview
Facilities and Grounds Coordinator role at Tulane University. The Facilities & Grounds Coordinator reports directly to the Associate Athletic Director, Facilities & Event Management. The position serves as the primary point-of-contact for Athletics grounds/landscape and turf management, oversees select athletic facilities, and serves as the primary and/or secondary game/event manager for assigned intercollegiate athletic contests. It also oversees day-to-day turf maintenance, grooming, repairs, and partners with vendors/contractors related to beautification of athletic facilities. The role includes event setup and breakdown and day-to-day facility maintenance (including maintenance, grounds, landscaping, IT, network/televisions, custodial, concessions/catering, etc.). The position will assist with the execution of assigned intercollegiate athletic contests as well as third-party special events/rentals. Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point-of-contact for Athletics grounds/landscape and turf management. Oversee select athletic facilities and act as the primary and/or secondary game/event manager for assigned intercollegiate contests. Manage day-to-day turf maintenance, grooming, repairs, and partner with vendors/contractors for facility beautification. Oversee event setup and breakdown and day-to-day facility maintenance (maintenance, grounds, landscaping, IT, network/televisions, custodial, concessions/catering, etc.). Assist with execution of assigned intercollegiate athletic contests and third-party events/rentals. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong Interpersonal Skills Strong Writing Skills Ability to interact effectively with Coaches, Administrators, Student-Athletes & Vendors Extremely organized, self-sufficient & intrinsically motivated Strong organizational, management & leadership skills Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets & social media Proven ability to multi-task effectively Ability to prioritize assignments & meet deadlines Available to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends & holidays Thorough knowledge of NCAA & American Conference Rules & Regulations NCAA Related
Ensures that all Department of Athletics and university-related activities operate in full compliance with university, conference and NCAA rules and regulations. Attends and participates in scheduled compliance seminars and complies with all athletic department efforts to monitor compliance with NCAA regulations. Seeks interpretations from the compliance staff before acting when necessary. Reports potential rules violations immediately. Completes required compliance paperwork in a timely and efficient manner. Monitors all areas and/or programs activities closely to maintain compliance with applicable rules and regulations. Required Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Administration or Closely-Related Field Previous experience in Grounds/Landscaping & Turf Management Previous Experience at the NCAA DI Level Seniority level
