Overview
Delaware Valley Job Corps Center (DVJCC) is located in Callicoon, NY. We are a center which uses student-focused programs to ensure successful training and employment placement for each individual we serve, with a capacity of 208 students. We are looking for exceptional employees to join our team of professionals to shape the lives of our 16-24 year old students and support their independence, employability skills, and success through the Job Corps program. Responsibilities
Responsible to develop and facilitate the Center's alcohol, drug and tobacco prevention program. Educate and counsel students to reduce and prevent drug-related separations from the program. Develop individualized case management plans to enhance student retention and success. Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information and compliance with all HIPAA laws. Follow integrity guidelines and procedures; avoid manipulation of student data. Develop and implement alcohol, drug and tobacco prevention activities and integrate services into Center programmatic functions. Develop and coordinate community resources for educating students on substance use and abuse. Administer the Center's drug testing program to promote a drug-free environment. Provide students with comprehensive and individualized case management, supporting progress, retention and completion of the Job Corps program. Establish mentoring relationships with students and provide substance abuse counseling and education. Counsel students individually and in groups on substance abuse. Produce quality work in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner; maintain attendance, accountability and productivity. Plan, prioritize and organize assignments to meet goals and deadlines; apply job knowledge to responsibilities. Mentor, monitor and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH; show respect and accountability to students. Provide quality programs and services, pursue improvement and enhancement of programs and services. Exchange ideas clearly, both orally and in writing; collaborate with staff from all Departments to ensure effective supervision and services to students. Accept direction from leadership and be willing to temporarily perform responsibilities across departments as needed. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited school preferred. A minimum of one-year experience in drug/alcohol counseling or related field required. Valid, active, unrestricted in-state License or Certification in Substance Abuse Counseling/Prevention required. Regional approval required. Benefits
