Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated
Property Accountant
to oversee all aspects of accounting for a large commercial real estate portfolio. This role will collaborate closely with department leaders to strengthen the accounting function while delivering high-quality service to both internal teams and external stakeholders. Responsibilities
Partner with Portfolio and Asset Managers to ensure profitability across assigned properties. Manage cash flow and funding requests for the portfolio. Support accounting integration for new property acquisitions. Perform bank reconciliations and prepare journal entries. Prepare, review, and distribute month-end financial reports, making adjustments as needed. Compile monthly financial packages including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Budget Variance, and Executive Summary. Review and analyze AR/AP transactions for accuracy; identify and resolve discrepancies. Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules. Prepare and post accrual entries with proper documentation. Provide year-end support for audits and tax preparation. Communicate directly with property owners and clients regarding financial matters. Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in commercial real estate property accounting. Strong knowledge of lease accounting under GAAP. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred; Associate’s degree with equivalent experience considered. Solid understanding of variance analysis and financial reporting. High attention to detail with excellent organizational skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines without sacrificing accuracy. Team-oriented mindset with strong ethical standards. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Benefits
