The Fixed Asset Accountant is responsible for managing the accounting and reporting of fixed assets across the region. This role ensures accurate capitalization, depreciation, and disposal of assets in accordance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience working in a fast-paced, asset-intensive environment such as construction materials or manufacturing. Key Responsibilities
Asset Management & Accounting Maintain the fixed asset ledger, ensuring timely and accurate recording of acquisitions, transfers, disposals, and depreciation. Monitor capital projects and ensure proper classification and capitalization of expenditures. Reconcile fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger monthly. Compliance & Controls Ensure compliance with internal policies, GAAP, and SOX requirements related to fixed assets. Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and explanations related to fixed assets. Reporting & Analysis Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports for management and finance teams. Analyze asset utilization and depreciation trends to support financial planning and decision-making. Collaboration & Support Partner with operations, procurement, and project management teams to track capital spending and asset commissioning. Assist in budgeting and forecasting for capital expenditures. System & Process Improvement Support system upgrades and process improvements related to fixed asset tracking and reporting. Maintain documentation of fixed asset procedures and controls. Regular and timely attendance Education / Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 3–5 years of experience in fixed asset accounting, preferably in construction, manufacturing, or industrial sectors. Strong understanding of GAAP and fixed asset accounting principles. Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards) and Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge / Skill Requirements
Experience with capital project accounting and asset lifecycle management. Familiarity with SOX compliance and internal control frameworks. Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset. General Requirements
