We seek a highly skilled Inspection Technology Leader to develop, implement, and oversee the latest inspection technologies to ensure the highest quality standards for our aerospace components. This is a strategic leadership role that collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to maintain and improve inspection processes, ensuring compliance with aerospace standards and customer specifications. Job Title : Inspection Technology Leader Location : CT, MA or NY (commuting distance to one of our manufacturing sites is preferred); candidates near other US sites (AZ, FL, IL, OH) will be considered. Travel ~50% of the time. Some remote work may be allowed at Manager’s discretion. Must be willing to visit Pursuit sites as needed. Responsibilities
Lead the development and implementation of cutting-edge inspection technologies across all production lines and manufacturing processes. Serve as the technical expert for inspection-related technology decisions and strategies. Oversee the design and optimization of inspection workflows for structural parts and airfoils, utilizing advanced technologies (e.g., 3D scanning, laser measurement, digital imaging). Provide leadership, training, and mentoring to Quality Engineers and Inspectors; promote a culture of continuous improvement. Collaborate with manufacturing engineering, production, and quality assurance teams to define inspection requirements and troubleshoot issues to meet customer and regulatory standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP). Stay up-to-date on industry advancements; lead integration of new inspection technologies to increase efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance precision. Ensure inspection methods and results meet customer specifications and aerospace regulatory requirements; prepare inspection reports as needed. Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for inspection failures; drive preventive actions with cross-functional teams. Champion continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inspection capabilities and reduce cycle times. Analyze inspection data to identify trends and performance metrics; provide regular reports to senior leadership. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Materials Science AND 8+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing – OR – 12+ years of experience in aerospace manufacturing without a degree. 5+ years in a leadership role focused on inspection technologies. Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. Must be able to perform work subject to ITAR/EAR regulations. Preferred Qualifications
Advanced certifications (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, ASQ) preferred. PCDMIS Level 3 training preferred; experience with PCDMIS laser scanning, NADCAP M&I, and/or A2LA ISO 17020. Experience with inspection systems and technologies used in aerospace (e.g., CMM, laser scanning) and with CAD/CAM and inspection software (PC-DMIS, Calypso, Polyworks). Strong knowledge of aerospace standards (AS9100, AS13100) and OEM quality standards. Experience in machining and fabrication of structural parts and airfoils for gas turbines. Proficiency in 3D scanning, optical inspection, metrology techniques, and vision systems (e.g., MicroView, Keyence, Zeiss). Gage R&R and MSA expertise; SPC and other quality tools experience. Strong understanding of GD&T. Physical Requirements
Mobility in a manufacturing environment with PPE; sit, stand, and walk as needed. Ability to lift and carry up to 15 pounds. Prolonged periods of desk work and computer use. Compensation & Benefits
In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $150,000 - $190,000 per year. Final offer may vary based on experience, education, and location.
