Assistant Controller – Insurance Industry Location:

Supervise and participate in month-end close activities and general accounting for multiple entities. Oversee statutory and GAAP financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements. Manage regulatory compliance reporting across multiple states and entities. Lead investment accounting and reporting, staying current on GAAP and statutory rules. Supervise and complete reinsurance accounting across entities. Prepare and review audit workpapers; participate in external audits and regulatory exams. Support statutory filings such as the Annual Statement, Investment Schedules, Insurance Expense Exhibit, Risk-Based Capital reporting, and Schedules F & P. Review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements; ensure strong internal controls. Participate in system implementations (Workday, SAP Concur, etc.) and reporting improvements. Develop and maintain knowledge of insurance accounting policies, internal controls, and industry standards. Contribute to departmental performance goals and continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications

CPA preferred. 5–10 years of progressive accounting experience. Statutory accounting expertise is critical. Prior insurance industry experience At least 3 years of management or supervisory experience. Strong technical accounting and financial reporting skills. Ability to thrive in a stable but evolving environment. Seniority level
