Austin State Hospital Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions)

Manage the daily operations and activities of the HSCS non-regional accounting office by setting and communicating performance measures to ensure goals are met. Direct and evaluate staff, develop and implement budgetary performance reports for HSCS management. Manage the facility budget and financial staff; coordinate with facility staff to provide financial information and assist in achieving financial goals within budget. Monitor expenditures and recommend budget adjustments; ensure financial outputs are accurate. Plan, assign, and supervise the work of the non-regional financial team. Ensure compliance with HHSC rules, HSCS policies; provide training as needed. Attend mandatory training and monitor compliance with federal/state law, comptroller guidelines and policies. Set daily deposit processing output goals and develop financial reporting schedules; ensure outputs are accurate. Perform other duties as assigned, including disaster response/COOP participation which may require alternate shifts or locations. Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to public financial operations; understanding of public administration and management. Skill in logical reasoning and using computers/software. Ability to manage financial operations and reporting; establish goals; develop policies; prepare reports; communicate effectively; supervise others. Qualifications

Minimum of two years supervisory experience in management of financial operations. Experience with budget planning/development preferred; experience with public entity financial operations preferred. Graduation from accredited four-year college with major in accounting, finance or related field generally preferred. Additional Information
