Lead daily financial operations for the HSCS Non-Regional Accounting office, set performance measures, and supervise the financial team. Develop and monitor budgetary performance reports for HSCS management; ensure expenditures align with the facility budget. Coordinate with facility staff to provide financial information to HSCS management; assist in achieving financial goals within allocated budgets. Direct and evaluate staff performance; prepare and approve financial reporting schedules and ensure accuracy of outputs. Ensure compliance with HHSC rules, HSCS policies, and relevant laws; provide training as needed; participate in mandatory training. Contribute to disaster response, recovery, or Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities as assigned. Essential Job Functions (EJFs)

Attend work regularly and perform duties as assigned according to agency leave policy. Manage daily operations of the financial team, communicate performance expectations, and deliver budgetary reports to HSCS management. Monitor expenditures, coordinate with facility staff for financial information, and recommend budget adjustments to stay within budget. Perform related duties professionally and timely; participate in mandatory training and ensure compliance with financial policies. Set daily output goals for deposits and fund reviews; develop and approve reporting schedules to ensure accurate financial outputs. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations relevant to public financial operations; understanding of public administration and management. Strong analytical reasoning and computer skills; ability to apply logic to problems and operate financial software. Ability to manage financial operations, establish goals, develop policies and procedures, prepare reports, and supervise others; effective communication. Registrations, Licensure Requirements or Certifications

None Initial Screening Criteria

Minimum of two years supervisory experience in managing financial operations. Experience with budget planning/development preferred. Experience with public entity financial operations preferred. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in accounting, finance, or related field preferred. Additional Information
