Overview
We are seeking an experienced and strategic
Controller
to lead our financial operations and partner with executive leadership in driving sustainable growth. This role is ideal for a results-driven professional with a strong background in accounting, financial management, and private equity-backed environments. Base pay range:
$180,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities
Oversee preparation of accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP. Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring deadlines are consistently met. Deliver financial reporting packages and KPIs to executive leadership and private equity stakeholders. Lead cash flow forecasting, working capital management, and treasury functions. Collaborate with leadership to develop and manage annual budgets and rolling forecasts. Monitor financial performance against budget, analyze variances, and recommend corrective actions. Support strategic initiatives through financial modeling and scenario analysis. Build and maintain efficient accounting systems, policies, and internal processes. Ensure cost accounting practices align with operational and profitability objectives. Drive continuous improvement efforts across financial and operational workflows. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including audits and tax filings. Manage external relationships with auditors, tax advisors, and consultants. Strengthen internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting. Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, fostering accountability and professional growth. Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and other departments. Champion a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning. Partner with private equity sponsors on reporting and diligence requirements. Assist in post-acquisition integration, aligning accounting policies and processes. Support add-on acquisitions with due diligence and financial integration activities. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred. 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role. Background in manufacturing or industrial services required. Experience with private equity-backed organizations strongly preferred. In-depth knowledge of GAAP and cost accounting principles. Proficiency with ERP systems (QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar). Advanced Excel capabilities and financial modeling expertise. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
