Responsibilities
As an Associate Underwriting Assistant, you''ll be responsible for providing administrative support in Underwriting Operations and involved in processing policy transactions in accordance with company guidelines and standards. You''ll need to have strong time management, customer service skills and ability to develop relationships with brokers, agents and internal casualty underwriters as well as underwriting assistants, claims, finance and premium audit teams. Underwriting support functions including but not limited to ordering MVRs, processing loss run requests, Work Comp posting notices, processing and mailing various policyholder notices, etc. Setting up electronic files, updating logs and systems, email policies and general electronic filing Processing and completing transactions, accurately and timely Handling transactions in a timely and professional manner; communicate as needed with agents to obtain information needed to complete underwriting transactions Participating in Underwriting Operations meetings; learning about insurance and rating, utilize policy systems and understand procedures and workflows Working on various projects, as needed Providing backup support for the Administrative Assistant, as needed Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Insurance industry knowledge a plus Demonstrated ability to be proactive, complete assignments and meet deadlines Proficient in Microsoft Office including an excellent working knowledge of Excel Education Requirement
High school diploma or equivalent required Effective interpersonal, organizational and communications (written and verbal) skills with solid ability to build and manage relationships Detail oriented with good follow-through skills Ability to learn workflow tasks and corresponding systems quickly Additional Company Details
