Job Description Description:

The Director Patient Financial Services (PFS) is the operational leader responsible for effectively managing accounts receivable according to JPS policies, goals, and objectives. This includes billing, collections, and denial management of all hospital accounts receivables. The Director ensures daily operations are executed timely and effectively, establishes strong relationships across the Revenue Cycle, maintains visibility, and fosters a culture focused on quality, operational improvement, and accountability. This role works closely with Revenue Cycle leadership and cross-functional areas to execute strategic goals, achieve revenue metrics, and ensure excellent patient and employee experiences.

Typical Duties

Aligns revenue cycle operations across units to maximize revenue and ensure high functionality of processes.

Develops and implements processes to meet the strategic initiatives of PFS.

Drives transformational change within PFS to ensure efficient, compliant, and leading-edge operations.

Builds and maintains stakeholder relationships, exceeding organizational values.

Ensures metrics, goals, and projects are tracked and accomplished.

Leads standardization efforts, fostering a high-performing culture aligned with organizational priorities.

Mentors and coaches staff, promoting professional development and satisfaction.

Evaluates team performance and makes personnel recommendations.

Oversees accounts receivable staff, including billing, collections, and denial management, aiming to meet financial targets.

Develops and manages departmental budgets and vendor relationships.

Oversees new systems and process improvements.

Develops policies and procedures for department operations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

5+ years managing healthcare revenue cycle functions.

5+ years using healthcare information systems.

Preferred Education and Experience:

Degree emphasis in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or related.

Master’s Degree preferred.

Experience with Lean and Six Sigma methodologies.

Preferred Certifications:

Healthcare Finance Management Association Certification.

EPIC certification or similar.
