Overview
The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated Controller/Asset Manager to directly support the partners in overseeing our growing portfolio. This hybrid role combines financial control, reporting, and compliance with strategic asset and portfolio management. Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day accounting and financial reporting for corporate and property-level entities. Manage audits, tax compliance, loan covenant tracking, and investor reporting. Oversee portfolio accounting, financial reporting, and variance analysis (QuickBooks, Excel, AppFolio). Manage property-level and portfolio budgets, forecasts, and cash flow reporting. Coordinate with lenders, investors, and joint-venture partners, ensuring compliance with reporting obligations. Develop and monitor asset management strategies to maximize NOI, occupancy, and long-term value. Support leasing, tenant relations, and operating expense reconciliations. Conduct hold/sell analyses, valuation models, and debt/refinance assessments. Collaborate with property managers and vendors to ensure operational efficiencies. Implement process improvements across accounting and asset management functions. Qualifications
7–10+ years of real estate accounting/asset management experience. Proficiency with AppFolio, QuickBooks, and Excel; Argus experience a plus. Strong financial modeling, budgeting, and strategic analysis skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills, with ability to interface directly with ownership, lenders, and investors.
