This fast-growing electrical contractor in Florida is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their finance department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting with a detailed understanding of the construction industry.

Responsibilities
Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Coordinate with management and staff to prepare budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to project future revenues and expenses. Oversee payroll functions to ensure that employees are paid in a timely and accurate manner. Prepare tax returns, ensuring compliance with payment, reporting, and other tax requirements. Establish tables of accounts and assign entries to proper accounts. Develop, implement, modify, and document recordkeeping and accounting systems. Reconcile general ledger accounts and bank statements. Use advanced Excel functions such as v-look ups and pivot tables to manage and analyze data. Allocate insurance costs and track notice to owner (NTO) requirements. Utilize QuickBooks Online ERP and Acumatica ERP software for financial management purposes. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field, preferably in the construction industry. Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with advanced Excel skills. Experience with QuickBooks Online ERP and Acumatica ERP software. Excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus. Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Experience with payroll, general ledger accounting, and month-end/year-end close processes. Experience in preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and tax planning.
