Overview
Accountant I role at Biodesix, Inc. The position involves daily transaction entry, general ledger reconciliations, supporting the monthly close process, assisting with annual external audits, and executing special projects to improve reporting, controls, and processes. The ideal candidate has solid knowledge of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, reconciliations, general ledger, and GAAP, with some exposure to audit preferred. Responsibilities
Maintain and monitor fixed asset ledgers, including monthly depreciation calculation and review of new assets for compliance with capitalization policy Maintain and monitor liability and lease amortization schedules, including monthly contract reviews for potential leases Maintain and monitor schedules for intangible assets, prepaid expenses, and vendor deposits Prepare monthly account reconciliations Prepare monthly closing journal entries Prepare property tax reports Assist with annual external audit, including preparation of schedules and work-papers Assist in development, maintenance, and compliance of accounting policies and internal controls; maintain accounting files and documentation Identify opportunities for process improvements or automation Ad-hoc accounting and financial analysis Provide general accounting and finance assistance to other departments and functions Requirements
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong organizational skills Team player, but able to work independently with minimal daily direction from manager Ability to make and meet commitments Ability to roll up sleeves and manage assigned projects as necessary Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to interact effectively with all levels within the company Knowledge of GAAP; familiarity with federal, state, and local tax laws Advanced knowledge of Excel is strongly preferred Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP is a plus Competency in Microsoft Office (SharePoint, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Education and Experience
Bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting, finance or related field CPA desirable Minimum 2-5 years of progressive accounting experience Internal control and/or SOX compliance experience is a plus Compensation
