Budget Analyst , you will play a critical role in shaping and executing strategic financial planning across multiple high-impact federal initiatives. This position involves close coordination with key U.S. Interagency Partners, including
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) ,
Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) ,
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) , and the
Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) . This is an exciting opportunity to directly support counter-drug and national security initiatives, applying your expertise to real-world missions that make a global impact Responsibilities Prepare and present comprehensive budget reports, validating and populating critical financial data. Develop in-depth cost-benefit analyses to advise leadership on optimal budgetary strategies. Apply expert knowledge of War Department Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) policies and procedures. Conduct detailed reviews of budget reports for technical accuracy, formatting, and compliance with War Department guidelines. Validate financial data manually and through the use of the PPBE System to support investment budget preparation. Continuously monitor execution against planned expenditures and recommend actionable adjustments. Provide subject matter expertise on budget execution related to counter-drug activities, including funding for intelligence, monitoring, and partner nation support. Advise and support Comptroller staff and regional portfolio managers with regulatory guidance and financial planning. Serve as a trusted resource across programs on legislative and regulatory requirements impacting the War Department's financial operations. Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s degree in Budget, Finance, or a related field. Seven (7) years of experience in budget analyst roles supporting a U.S. Government Agency within a secure environment. Active Top Secret / SCI Clearance. Hands-on experience with: Defense Enterprise Accounting and Management System (DEAMS) Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPR) Preparing and processing Unfunded Requirements (UFR) packets Strong working knowledge of: Program planning, scheduling, and budget formulation Cost analysis and financial reporting PPBE processes and systems War Department counter-drug funding structures, including monitoring, intelligence, and partner support Direct experience providing financial support to U.S. Interagency Partners such as HSI, DEA, CBP, and FBI Desired: Master’s degree in Budget, Finance, or a related discipline. 10+ years of experience supporting War Department financial operations within secure environments.
