as a staff accountant! The

Staff Accountant

is primarily responsible for tracking grant spending and submission of monthly grant reimbursement requests to various funding agencies. The accountant will interact daily with finance leadership and the grant management team to ensure accuracy of expenditures tracking and will perform various analyses as needed. Additionally, the staff accountant will have the opportunity to expand accounting skillsets by working closely with the accounting manager to assist with various other accounting projects as needed. KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities): Prepare monthly payroll and benefits journal entries. Record various month/year-end journal entries. Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations. Maintain fixed asset records including setup of new assets, retirements, recording monthly depreciation and coordination of periodic fixed assets inventories. Analyze and post billing and cash receipts transactions. Collaborate with members of the finance team to develop and maintain process flow documentation and narratives for all routine accounting processes. Maintain accurate tracking worksheets for assigned grants to ensure revenue and expenses are accurately coded to appropriate grant in compliance with grant terms. Prepare invoices to meet various funding agency documentation requirements and deadlines for assigned grants. Other tasks, projects, and analyses assigned by manager. Accrual-based accounting Managing multiple tasks Process evaluation and improvement Accounting software Audit

Advanced Excel skills Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections Professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills Ability to interact professionally with club staff, board members, volunteers, and other related agencies Strong organizational and time management skills with exceptional attention to detail Must be able to take initiative, self-motivated, and function both independently and in a team environment
