Postdoctoral Positions – Yale University
Yale University – Postdoctoral Positions in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate Dynamics Overview
One or two postdoctoral positions in Ocean, Atmosphere and Climate Dynamics will be available in the Yale University, Department of Geology and Geophysics. The research areas include ocean circulation, ocean–atmosphere interactions, the role of the ocean in climate, climate variability, and paleoclimate, with topics such as El Niño and tropical climate in the past, present and future; biases in climate GCMs; stability of the Atlantic meridional overturning circulation; oceanic and climate predictability; and abrupt climate changes. Responsibilities
The work will involve a combination of numerical modeling, analyses of observational, proxy and GCM data, and analytical approaches. Qualifications
A PhD in physical oceanography, atmospheric sciences or related disciplines is required. Experience with oceanic or atmospheric general circulation models (GCM) is a big advantage. Funding is currently available for two to three years but can be extended in the future. Application Information
Successful candidates should email a CV, a statement of research interests, one reprint or preprint, and the names of three referees to Professor Alexey Fedorov (alexey.fedorov@yale.edu; Subject: postdoctoral search). Review of applications will begin on August 1, 2014 and continue until the position(s) is filled. Equal Opportunity
Yale University is an affirmative action/equal opportunity employer. Yale values diversity in its faculty, staff, and students and strongly encourages applications from women and members of underrepresented minority groups.
