You must be a current Professional Ski Instructors of America – American Association of Snowboard Instructor (PSIA-AASI) Level I or higher certification or hold a foreign certification equivalent to be eligible for this position. Position Overview Being a snowsports instructor is more than teaching the perfect turn - it’s about creating a safe, fun, and inclusive learning environment and welcoming people Mt. Hood Meadows - “Your Mountain Home.” Instructors spend more time with our guests than any other team member, making instructors key players in growing snowsports and creating a lasting impression of our company and industry. Mt. Hood Meadows Learning Center Instructors are primarily responsible for providing high quality ski and/or snowboard instruction in group lesson or private lesson settings to all ages , including adults and children ages 3 and older, in a safe and fun learning environment at Mt. Hood Meadows and/or Cooper Spur Mountain Resort . This is a part-time, seasonal position Qualifications Current PSIA-AASI Level I or higher certification, or foreign equivalent Prior experience instructing skiing and/or snowboarding for an organized ski and snowboard school Ability to ski and/or snowboard safely, linking round turns on intermediate (blue) groomed terrain at Mt. Hood Meadows Passion for teaching people and the mountain environment Strong communication and guest services skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to work outdoors in all conditions while maintaining a positive attitude Must have sufficient sight, speech and hearing abilities to learn skills, follow and provide directions and instruction to guests Ability to read and reply to email communications in a professional and timely manner Must provide own equipment ( e.g. skis, snowboard, ski/snowboard boots, ski poles, gloves, goggles, thermal layers, etc.) Available to attend 2 days of mandatory training and teach a minimum of 18 shifts during the season, primarily weekends and holidays Submit to a background check to work with minors Must be at least 16 years of age AND hold PSIA-AASI certification Compensation: Starting Wage:
$20.75 hourly Year-Round Housing Rentals Available.
