Join a passionate staff and an amazing work culture at Sugar Bowl Resort Snowsports School! We're hiring certified ski and snowboard instructors/coaches for the upcoming season. Snowboard instructors must be able to ski and teach skiing. All are welcome to apply. Instruct group lessons, private lessons, and/or be involved in coaching our Seasonal Shredders programs. Why Sugar Bowl? Sugar Bowl Resort has been proudly independent for over 80 years and is one of the oldest ski resorts in California. Situated atop beautiful Donner Summit, Sugar Bowl has a storied past with ties to Austrian ski culture, Hollywood and Walt Disney. This special community helped bring skiing to “sunny California” since December 1939. Since then, it continues to attract adventurous winter sports enthusiasts a like.
Qualifications
Hold a current ski instructor certification
Creative, innovative and able to manage groups of guests in an organized and safe manner
Must be a strong intermediate skier or higher ability to apply
Have the desired skills to connect and communicate with families and their children
Ability to foster good working relationships with other departments
Responsibilities
Work in all types of weather conditions
Possess outstanding communication skills to deal with a variety of people from the public, other departments, homeowners, and guests of various ages
Possess the desire and ability to continue to develop in the mountain resorts industry both personally and professionally
Be available and sign in by scheduled time on a workday. You could be assigned by 8:00 - this means dressed and equipment ready to go
Cleaning assignments are shared by staff
Snow shoveling as necessary
Work for various resort departments as needed
