$54,034 - $56,736 DOQ Description: Watauga County is accepting applications for the position of Deputy Sheriff with the Watauga County Sheriff’s Office in the Patrol Division. The position performs intermediate protective service work enforcing laws, patrolling assigned areas, investigating criminal activity, serving civil and criminal papers, ensuring the safety of the public, testifying in court, maintaining records and files, preparing reports, and related work as apparent or assigned. Minimum Requirements: High school diploma or GED required. Moderate experience in law enforcement. Possession of North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Certification, or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Benefits: The county benefit package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance; membership with the Local Governmental Employees’ Retirement System; a 5% supplemental retirement contribution; paid holidays; vacation; and sick leave.
