Watauga County Parks and Recreation Department is accepting applications for the position of Aquatics Director. The position involves supervising and overseeing the activities of the county aquatics program, including daily operation of the recreation and lap pools at the Watauga County Recreation Center. Supervise and oversee the activities of the county aquatics program, including daily operation of recreation and lap pools. Plan, organize, coordinate, and promote the aquatics program. Recruit, train, and supervise part-time employees; manage all aquatic-related programs, equipment, and facilities. Coordinate with program schedules to accommodate evening, weekend, and holiday hours as needed. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in recreation or physical education with emphasis in aquatic programming or equivalent experience and training is required. Current American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor, Lifeguard Training, and Pool Operator’s Certificates are required. Compensation and Benefits
Salary Grade 10, $61,062. County benefit package including health insurance, retirement, paid holidays, vacation and sick leave provided. Application Process
