Position Information
The Twin Falls County Prosecutors Of?ce is responsible for prosecuting
crimes in Twin Falls County. We have one full-
time opening for a senior felony deputy prosecutor.
Our comprehensive bene?ts package includes full health, dental, vision,

retirement plans such as PERSI pension and 401(k), as
well as Deferred Compensation. There are 12 Paid holidays with generous

Job Description
CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY
The Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney will be assigned to prosecute
speci?c types of cases such as crimes against
persons and serious felonies. This attorneys duties include all
litigation, negotiation, preparation, and resolution while
Possessing The Courtroom Skills Required To Prosecute The Assigned
cases. This attorney will spend many hours in court
and will make critical decisions in case strategy, preparation and
presentation. The Senior Deputy Prosecuting Attorney
works under the direction of the Chief Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, but
must exercise independent judgment and
initiative. When necessary, assistance is available from the Chief
Deputy. The principal duties of this position are
performed in the of?ce and the courtroom.
Duties / Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:(illustrative only and may vary by
assignment)
Represents the State of Idaho in criminal cases including, but not
limited to the following tasks: going to crime
scenes, advising law enforcement agencies during investigations of
crimes, obtaining search warrants, screening
cases, deciding whether to ?le charges, meeting with crime victims,
attending multiple court proceedings,
organizing the case ?le, preparing evidence, securing witnesses,
preparing for jury trial, presenting the State\'s case
to the jury, responding to post-trial motions, ?ling and prosecuting
probation violations;
Responds to legal questions from law enforcement agencies;
Represents the State of Idaho in post-conviction relief petitions
including ?ling answers, motions and supporting
pleadings, and presenting the State\'s case to the court;
Directs staff in the preparation of pleadings, forms, orders, motions,
legal memorandums and other paperwork;
Protects the rights of victims and those criminally accused;
Provides training to law enforcement of?cers, other prosecutors, child
welfare advocates, and court personnel;
Conducts legal research;
Interacts, mediates and negotiates with opposing counsel, judges, of?ce
staff, other agencies and law enforcement
of?ces;
Performs time management and scheduling functions, meets deadlines, and
sets project priorities;
Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate co-workers to
maximize the effectiveness and ef?ciency
of of?ce operations and activities;
Interacts with county employees, witnesses, victims, defendants, law
enforcement of?cials, visitors, and the
general public effectively and professionally;
Assists other prosecutors in the of?ce on cases when necessary;
Acts as a special prosecutor in cases in other counties;
Attends Idaho Prosecuting Attorneys Association training to comply with
continuing legal education requirements
of the Idaho State Bar; and
Performs other duties as assigned by the Twin Falls County Prosecuting
Attorney.
