This position is responsible for ensuring equal opportunity in employment and for conducting roofing inspections in accordance with applicable codes and regulations. The role requires reading, interpreting, and applying technical information from manuals, drawings, specifications, layouts, blueprints, and schematics.
Responsibilities
Review roofing applications for code compliance and enforce roofing protocols.
Document daily construction activities.
Interface with owner building officials and designers as appropriate.
Meet with applicants requiring plan review services for municipal building permits; reject incomplete submittals as needed.
Coordinate with municipalities, state, and federal officials regarding building plan reviews and permits.
Conduct inspections of foundations, alterations, repairs, remodeling, or demolition of various construction types to ensure compliance with the Florida Building Code and local amendments.
Enforce project requirements and rectify non-compliance issues.
Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the construction field.
Knowledgeable of the Florida Building Code; building plan review and/or inspection experience is desirable.
Strong structural and building background is a plus.
Licenses and Certifications:
State of Florida Commercial Roofing Inspector License
State of Florida Building Inspector and/or Plan Reviewer license is desirable
Five years of construction experience
State of Florida Standard Inspector License (BN), a plus
State of Florida Plans Examiner License (PX), a plus
State of Florida Registered Architect (RA), a plus
State of Florida Registered Professional Engineer (PE), a plus
State of Florida General Contractor License (GC), a plus
