Overview
Mechanical Inspector and/or Plans Examiner role at Bureau Veritas North America. This position involves inspection and plan review services for construction projects, interpretation and application of regulations, review of building construction blueprints, product approvals, shop drawings, and other project documents. Some travel may be required for inspections and/or managing projects in the assigned area. A professional demeanor, technical and industry experience, and teamwork are required.

Responsibilities
Examine building permit applications, including blueprints, specifications, surveys, product approvals, shop drawings, and other required documents for compliance with the Florida Building Code and related regulations.
Prepare written and electronic reports and issue notices of correction.
Identify and resolve unique problems or situations.
Meet with design professionals, contractors, and other interested parties to discuss technical code issues during the plan review process.
Prepare and maintain all required records and reports.
Inspect buildings and facilities for compliance with the Florida Building Code and related regulations as required by the supervisor.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager.
Qualifications
State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) in building; or
State of Florida Inspector License (BN) in building; or
ICC Residential & Commercial Plans Examiner and/or Inspection certification in building; and
Knowledge of the Florida Building Code and related construction regulations; ability to interpret codes and evaluate project proposals for conformance.
Certified or certifiable as a Building Plans Examiner by the Miami-Dade and/or Broward County BORA is a plus.
