CAP Government, Inc. is seeking the immediate hire of a licensed Mechanical Plans Examiner and Inspector for inspection and plan review services of construction projects. The work involves interpreting regulations, reviewing building construction blueprints, product approvals, shop drawings and other project documents. Some travel may be required for inspections and/or managing projects in the assigned area. Mechanical Inspector and/or Plans Examiner Description

CAP Government, Inc. seeks an experienced professional to perform inspection and plan review services. The responsibilities include interpretation and application of regulations as applied to customer relations, review of building construction blueprints, product approvals, shop drawings and other project documents. Travel may be required for inspections and/or managing projects in the assigned area. Candidates must possess a professional demeanor, have both technical and industry experience, and be a team player. Responsibilities

Conduct examination of building permit applications, including blueprints, specifications, surveys, product approvals and shop drawings for compliance with the Florida Building Code and related regulations. Prepare written and electronic reports and issue notices of correction. Recognize, evaluate and resolve unique problems or situations. Meet with design professionals, contractors and other interested parties to discuss technical code issues during the plan review process. Prepare and maintain all required records and reports. Inspect buildings and facilities for compliance with the Florida Building Code and related regulations as directed by the supervisor. Perform other related duties as assigned by the Manager. Position Requirements

Education/Experience: State of Florida Plan Review License (PX) in building; or State of Florida Inspector License (BN) in building; or ICC Residential & Commercial Plans Examiner and/or Inspection certification in building; and Knowledge of the Florida Building Code and related construction regulations. Ability to understand and interpret codes and evaluate project proposals to verify conformance with code requirements. Certification as Building Plans Examiner by Miami-Dade and/or Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) is a plus.
