This job requires handling, trimming, and weighing deer retropharyngeal lymph node tissue samples in preparation for chronic wasting disease (CWD) testing.
Responsibilities
Assist with Chronic Wasting Disease (CWD) testing.
Handle, trim, and weigh deer retropharyngeal lymph node tissue samples in preparation for CWD testing.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or an Associate's Degree
No prior experience in CWD testing. Candidates should have good organizational skills and attention to detail as proper labeling and ordering of sample tubes are critical.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Excellent telephone and email communication skills, especially related to client service.
Must be capable of working in a team environment comprised of doctors, staff, and students to provide veterinary care of patients.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort Most of the work will be completed under a biosafety cabinet. Sitting for long periods of time is required.
