Overview
THIS IS A PART-TIME TEMPORARY POSITION. THIS POSITION MAY END AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE NEEDS OF THE DEPARTMENT. Responsibilities
Case management Interview witnesses and interrogate suspects Conduct surveillance Conduct thorough investigations, subpoena records, and obtain items needed for case presentation to the ADA Interview complainants, victims, witnesses, and suspects to obtain relevant facts Conduct follow-up investigations Prepare detailed reports Execute arrest and search warrants, conduct surveillance, and assist local, state, and federal partners in criminal investigations File charges and testify in court Assist other local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies in criminal investigations Perform other assignments and duties as required and/or necessary This Job Description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities. Must be an Honorably Retired Peace Officer A minimum of fifteen (15) years of experience in law enforcement Must have an active TCOLE Peace Officer License Willing to accept, attend, and successfully complete additional training as required Must present a professional image Knowledge of: Texas Penal Code and Code of Criminal Procedure, specifically Chapter 32 Skilled in: Proficient in the use of Superion, JWEB, CAD, DIMS, and JOTS computer systems Proficient in standard office software programs such as MS Word and Outlook Excellent communication skills – both oral and written Excellent organizational skills Proficient report writing and communication skills Ability to: Effectively manage a caseload Prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment to meet strict deadlines Work independently as well as in a team environment Work varying duty hours as needed Work with outside law enforcement agencies and HCDAO Previous criminal investigative experience Other Information
