Electrical & Instrumentation Technician role at Louis Dreyfus Company in Claypool, IN. Responsibilities
Maintain and repair controls and instrumentation systems and associated wiring, including level transmitters, pressure switches, temperature transmitters, moisture meters, density meters, conductivity meters, pH probes, O2 sensors, 24 V DC, 120V AC and 4/20 mA analog circuits. Maintain and repair Profibus, Modbus, Ethernet, Devicenet, Hart, ASI systems, etc., ensuring reliable operation. Direct, advise, instruct, inspect, support, and assist contractors and employees in design, construction, operation, and maintenance of assets. Troubleshoot and repair control valves, switch packs, control modules, and related components. Install wiring, configure, download, program, and test instruments and devices. Collect data, document, and calibrate all instruments and devices; manage Endress Hauser (WAM) inventory updates. Collaborate with plant operations to complete tasks safely and timely; notify Maintenance Supervisors of production, maintenance, or safety issues. Follow SOPs, safety procedures, environmental practices, GMP guidelines; troubleshoot electrical systems and components; repair fire system instrumentation (pressure switches, tamper switches, flow switches). Repair electrical systems including VFDs, motors, MCCs, PLCs, power distribution, and turbines; service Critical Safety Devices and assist programmers to improve reliability. Coordinate with contractors on new projects to ensure proper installation and programming; support reliability improvements with maintenance and operations management. Assist in capital and maintenance projects; complete PMs with plant and inventory coordination; perform instrument calibrations and repairs; train and mentor colleagues. Work overtime and on-call as needed; participate in safety committees, audits, and team activities; shutdown work as required. Qualifications
Two-year degree with at least one year of hands-on experience or 5 years of direct hands-on experience in instrumentation, PLCs, control systems, and calibrations. Knowledge of 4-20 mA loops and instrumentation calibration (Endress Hauser, Rosemount, Fisher, Samson, etc.). Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC programming and reading electrical schematics/diagrams. Temperature, pressure, and flow transmitter training; analytical training. Required languages: English; Required education: High School Diploma. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, PLCs, instrumentation, HMI, and electrical systems; familiarity with MCCs and industrial controls. What We Offer
