We are seeking a
Sous Chef
responsible for overseeing daily kitchen operations, including managing line cooks, prep cooks, artisan bread makers, cake decorators, pastry specialists, and bakery partners. The role involves producing products for various sections such as the Chef's Case, Soup/Salad/Sandwich Bar, Catering, Bakery, Tortilleria, Bread Production, and Pastry areas. Key responsibilities include: Assisting in scheduling staff to meet production needs within budget. Maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment in the kitchen, walk-ins, and storage areas. Making employment-related decisions and assisting in new product development and menu costing. Managing total kitchen production in the absence of the Executive Chef or Executive Sous Chef. Ensuring sanitation standards and efficient operation of kitchen equipment. Supervising, training, and cross-training kitchen staff. Requirements: Professional Culinary Degree or equivalent experience and training. Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to execute high-volume production and maintain food quality. Experience with ordering, inventory, and shrink control. Proficiency with automated reporting systems (inventory, food cost, scheduling, etc.) is preferred. Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
