What to Expect
Responsibilities
Assist in the oversight, planning, and implementation of strategies for managing the state's water assets to benefit the State's land Trust beneficiaries
Research, compile, analyze, and prepare reports on complex water resource management issues
Supervise and mentor paraprofessional staff, stepping in as acting manager when needed
Respond to water inquiries, prepare correspondence, and maintain accurate databases and files
Conduct field inspections and produce reports based on findings
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Hydrology, Biology, Civil Engineering, Geology, Watershed Management, or related discipline, or five years of relevant training and experience
Valid state-issued driver’s license appropriate to the assignment
Knowledge of water resource planning, development, and management principles
Proficiency in using software programs such as Microsoft Office and ArcGIS Suite
Ability to research, analyze, and prepare detailed technical reports on complex subjects
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in water resource management programs or related fields
Familiarity with federal and state water statutes and regulations
Strong leadership skills and experience in training staff
Knowledge of GIS mapping and data analysis tools
Previous experience in a government or regulatory environment
