Senior Academic Advisor, College of Natural Sciences

Join the College of Natural Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin as a Senior Academic Advisor to support the university’s mission of fostering student wellness, belonging, and success. Responsibilities

Provide academic advising individually and in groups, lead orientation meetings, and deliver informational sessions for stakeholders. Manage Peer Academic Advising staff, including recruitment and training of student employees. Teach, develop, and assess the tip instructional team’s first-year seminar course and other TIP related courses primarily during the fall semester. Coordinate special projects to advance success for TIP Scholars and represent TIP staff on CNS or UT committees. Perform additional duties as assigned, including supporting special projects and staffing events within CNS. Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and six years of professional experience. Demonstrated ability to provide academic and non-academic advising to students. Ability to teach, present, and/or train student audiences. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with others. Superb written and oral communication skills, including presentation skills. Student-centered focus on student success, with initiative and discretion. Must be able to work in person on the UTA campus. Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in a related field. Experience in higher education working with student success initiatives. Experience implementing staff and student programs. Salary

$50,000 Working Conditions

Environmental Demands: may work around standard office conditions. Physical Tasks: repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation. Limited evening and weekend hours may be required. Required Materials
