Augusta University is Georgia's innovation center for education and health care, training the next generation of innovators, leaders, and healthcare providers in classrooms and clinics on four campuses in Augusta and locations across the state. The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nation's largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class. The MCG educational experience is anchored by the main campus in Augusta, with regional clinical campuses for third- and fourth-year students across the state, and two four-year campuses located in Athens (in partnership with the University of Georgia) and in Savannah (in partnership with Georgia Southern University). Job Summary

The primary duty of the Research Associate is to plan and conduct research. Responsibilities

General Lab Management: Make inventory of lab supply, order research supply, stock lab supply in cell culture room and lab space, cleaning and autoclave. Analyze large data sets and provide bioinformatic support. General lab research work: Perform general molecular biology experiments Including PCR, cloning, western blot, immunohistochemistry, etc., cell culture, transfection, plasmid preparation, lentiviral vector production, etc. Mouse breeding: Set up mouse breeding cages, wean, make inventory of breeding mice, mouse genotype, mouse transfer to the researcher. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and experience in research, basic science or clinical laboratory particularly clinical trial research. OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, cell biology or other natural, life, health care or materials science directly related to the research area to which the position is assigned and a minimum of three years' research and/or clinical experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Excellent customer service, interpersonal, multi-tasking, organizational and verbal/written communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and other computer software/databases. Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines despite often interruptions, maintain confidentiality, keep accurate records and make independent decisions. Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position) Pay Band: B8 Salary Range: $45,400/annually - $50,675/annually Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position Conditions of Employment
