CT Scan Technologist - Up to $20,000 Sign On Bonus

Operates a CT scanner and related equipment to produce radiographs of designated anatomical areas. Collects and completes records on patient data and equipment operation. Provides assistance to patients and Radiologists. Solves minor equipment problems. Performs calibration tests and other quality control functions on equipment and notifies service personnel as required. Responsibilities

Operates CT scanner by performing procedures such as checking and testing calibration, energizing equipment, loading program discs, and positioning patients. Collects and completes computerized and manual records on patient data. Screens patients for proper diet preparation, drug and food sensitivity, and pregnancy. Prepares hypodermic supplies and administers contrast medium and saline to patients. Monitors patients and equipment during scan process. Processes and develops films. Performs specialized non-routine computer functions as required. Analyzes equipment problems and malfunctions and makes minor equipment repairs. Minimum Qualifications

Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiological Technology (ARRT). Current CPR certification from AHA, BLS for Healthcare Providers. RI state radiation license and CT supplemental license from the DOH. Two years of formal training in an approved School of Radiologic Technology. Current, valid license from the Department of Health to practice in the state of Rhode Island. Experience

Six months' experience as a Radiologic Technologist in a hospital radiology department, plus six months specialized training in the operation of the CT Scanner. Work Environment And Physical Requirements

Work location is generally in the CT Scan area or satellite areas with little discomfort due to noise, dust or temperature. Exposed to radiation, but with little chance of injury when established safety procedures are followed. Pay Range
