CT Scan Technician (PD) – Brown University Health

Location

The Miriam Hospital – 164 Summit Ave, Providence, RI 02906

Employment Type

Full-time, rotating shift, variable, per diem as required

Pay Range

$38.78 – $64.00 per hour

Responsibilities Operate CT scanner and related equipment to produce diagnostic images

Perform complex CT procedures in a busy radiology department

Ensure quality results and meet safety protocols for radiation exposure

Train students and staff in imaging procedures and techniques

Assist support staff with patient transport and ancillary duties

Minimum Qualifications Registered in RI state radiology license and CT supplemental license from DOH

Registered and in good standing with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)

Current CPR certification from AHA; basic BLS for healthcare providers

Two years of formal training from an approved School of Radiologic Technology

Six months experience as a radiologic technologist in a hospital department plus six months of specialized CT training

Work Environment & Physical Requirements Station in CT scan area or satellite areas; low noise, dust, temperature

Exposure to radiation following established safety procedures

Long periods of standing, walking, pushing portable equipment, lifting and positioning patients
