Trystar . Location: Faribault, MN. The HSE Specialist is responsible for ensuring all safety and environmental programs, procedures, training, work practices and controls are effectively implemented. The role identifies applicable EHS regulations and risks and collaborates with Operations, Quality, Planning, Legal, and Engineering to support and maintain systems to ensure compliance with Trystar HSE Policies, Programs, Work Instructions, and Management Systems. This role reports to the HSE Director. Base pay range

$60,000.00/yr - $80,000.00/yr In this role you will get to

Facilitate EHS program objectives by providing clear direction to the site. Utilize existing proactive safety tools and deploy improvements as needed. Train and coach operations staff on accident prevention and ensure safety is at the forefront of all factory discussions. Provide expertise on safety risk identification, assessment and management processes at site level. Be the site EHS expert and the preferred point of contact for safety and environmental inquiries. Complete site compliance activities to ensure company and regulatory requirements are met regarding safety, health, waste management, water discharge, air observation, and permit obligations. Monitor federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and risk initiatives; analyze potential impacts on operations and inform leadership. Identify and facilitate health and safety training for company staff, subcontractors, and required participants; develop training content and deliver through in-house or external resources. Drive coordination and engagement of plant and support personnel in identifying, developing, and implementing HSE goals. Maintain HSE documents and permit administration with appropriate retention. Provide leadership to site emergency response teams and safety committee teams. Partner with HR for orientation training and to manage workers’ compensation cases. Maintain presence on the factory floor as an observer, leader, trainer, and main point of contact for HSE. Support incident reporting, investigation and root cause analysis; ensure corrective actions are completed promptly and effectively. Provide input into process hazard studies and capital projects to keep safety at the forefront; oversee subcontractors and project team members to ensure compliance with accident prevention plans. Act as the site point of contact for safety matters and provide day-to-day guidance on process safety issues. Conduct regular inspections and audits to assess health and safety plan adherence and identify risks. Collaborate with manufacturing supervisors and management; escalate issues and recommend policy and procedure improvements. Assist in developing the site HSE budget and attend site management meetings as requested. Ensure safety program compliance for LOTO, Electrical, Confined Space, PPE, PIT, Hearing Conservation, and Respiratory Protection. Support health program compliance, including Industrial Hygiene plans for welding, sandblasting, grinding, and powder coating. Drive environmental program compliance, including Air Permitting, EPCRA Reporting, Waste Management, Wastewater, and Storm Water. Job requirements

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Health, Safety, Environmental or related field Three years of progressive work experience in a role directly related to health and safety Strong written and verbal communication skills with diplomacy and tact Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic IT skills Additional Qualifications

Demonstrated success in teaching health and safety concepts ASP or GSP preferred Experience leading manufacturing facilities and cross-functional teams in health & safety initiatives Aptitude for independent thinking and reasoning Experience working effectively in cross-functional environments Hands-on experience in industrial hygiene monitoring and use of hazardous work permits Leadership without formal authority Flexibility to work extended or later hours to support second shift Job details
