Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities Supervise Structural Engineers (US and overseas) and work with Structural Technicians to prepare structural drawings and specifications; lead larger production teams and serve as the responsible charge for projects Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and review of contractor submittals Perform project administrative tasks, including design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementing Black & Veatch Quality Control requirements Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers Lead a team to execute complex projects with construction values up to $100M Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, applicable engineering codes, and BV policies; assist in developing and maintaining engineering standards; provide technical guidance to others and support continuous improvement efforts Implements resource management strategy including managing resources for a small group Qualifications
Minimum of 5 years related work experience Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience Holds active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries Preferred Qualifications
Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program Familiarity with International Building Code, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 530 Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAADPro, or SAP 2000 Proficiency with non-structural software such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit Certifications
Holds an active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries, and supports where necessary. Work Environment
