This position is focused on the design of structures which support water purification and treatment facilities, making water supplies more resilient and sustainable. This engineer will design a variety of structural systems, broaden their design experience, and collaborate with other disciplines, while delivering critical water infrastructure projects to the community. As part of BV Operations, your skills will be aligned to projects that support our three market sectors: Governments & Environment, Energy & Process Industries, and Connectivity & Commercial. You will engage with exciting projects across the globe, from small community improvements to mega projects, and will have opportunities for career development within a collaborative and innovative culture. Key Responsibilities
Execute complex structural analysis, perform calculations, and prepare sketches and drawings for the design of water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial facilities, and other complex structural facilities Supervise Structural Engineers (US and overseas) and work with Structural Technicians in the preparation of structural drawings and specifications; lead larger production teams and serve as the responsible charge for projects Perform construction phase engineering duties such as site visits, responding to RFIs, and review of contractor submittals Perform project administrative tasks, including design fee estimates, monitoring progress against budget and schedule, management of project changes, and implementation of Black & Veatch Quality Control requirements Coordinate work with architects and other discipline engineers Lead a team to execute complex projects with construction values up to $100M Provide guidance on department design guides, standards, systems, engineering codes and BV policies; assist in developing, maintaining, and updating engineering standards; provide technical guidance and support continuous improvement Implement resource management strategy including managing resources for a small group Preferred Qualifications
Master of Engineering or Master of Science from an ABET accredited Structural Engineering program Familiarity with the latest editions of IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 530 Proficiency with structural analysis software such as RISA 3D, STAAD.Pro, or SAP2000 Proficiency with non-structural software packages such as Bluebeam, ProjectWise, AutoCAD, and Revit Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years related work experience Holds active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements for BV projects in applicable countries Certifications
