An affiliate faculty member’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to, teaching assigned classes either in person or online by delivering course content to students, preparing course materials and lesson plans, grading student work, giving timely and helpful feedback, responding to student questions in line with university, college, or department policies, and providing academic support to students online or in person as needed for the course. They should teach class content based on the syllabus and follow any department guidelines. Responsibilities also include holding office hours, following university policies on student evaluations, and participating in peer reviews. Applicants may be asked to teach in various formats—face-to-face, online, or a mix—depending on course needs. Flexibility and willingness to learn new teaching methods are important. Candidates should also be sensitive to the educational needs of a diverse student body. Required Qualifications

Master’s degree in Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and/or any EAS related discipline Terms of Employment

Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for benefit coverage under the University’s benefit program. All such teaching assignments are dependent on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates will be expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire. Salary
