Metropolitan State University of Denver invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions in the Earth and Atmospheric Sciences program. This listing is for potential future affiliate faculty needs to teach courses in Geography, Geology, Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Science, Integrated Science, or Meteorology. Responsibilities
Teach assigned classes in person or online, delivering course content to students. Prepare course materials and lesson plans; grade student work and provide timely, robust feedback. Address student questions in accordance with university, college/school, and department policies. Provide online or in-person academic support as needed for the teaching assignment. Deliver instruction aligned with the course syllabus learning objectives and, if required, department course coordination policies. Maintain office hours and comply with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. Demonstrate adaptability to new modes of instruction and sensitivity to diverse student needs. Qualifications
Master’s degree in a field related to Earth and Atmospheric Sciences (EAS) disciplines. Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per-credit-hour basis, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. Affiliate faculty are not eligible for University benefit coverage. All teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Candidates are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire. Salary
The final salary is based on the number of credit hours assigned at a rate determined by university policy. How To Apply
