Overview
The Department of Theatre and Dance at Metropolitan State University of Denver (MSU Denver) invites applications for part-time affiliate faculty teaching positions. This listing is for potential future affiliate faculty needs for our Theatre Technology and Design Program. Responsibilities
Affiliate faculty duties include but are not limited to: Teaching assigned classes in person or online by delivering course content to students. Preparing course materials and lesson plans. Grading student work and providing robust, timely feedback. Addressing student questions consistent with university, college/school, and department policies. Providing online or in-person academic support to students as needed and appropriate for the teaching assignment. Providing instruction in assigned classes consistent with the content and learning objectives of the regular course syllabus and, if required, with department course coordination policies. Maintaining office hours and complying with university-wide student evaluation of instruction policies and peer observation policies. Adaptability to new modes of instruction and sensitivity to the educational needs of a diverse student population. Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts in Theatre or related field with 6 years of relevant experience; or Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theatre or related field with 4 years of relevant experience. Preferred Qualifications
Master of Fine Arts in Theatre or related field with 2 years of relevant experience; or Master of Arts in Theatre with 3 years of relevant experience; or Doctorate in Theatre or related field with 2 years of relevant experience. Terms of Employment
Affiliate faculty are part-time, at-will employees hired to teach on a per credit hour basis for specific classes, usually on a semester-by-semester basis. They are not eligible for University benefit coverage. All teaching assignments depend on budget and enrollment. Qualified candidates are expected to teach in person/on campus upon hire. Salary
