The Craft Center at UC San Diego invites applications for the Craft Center Program Instructor. Under the general supervision of the Craft Center Manager, the Craft Center Program Instructor is responsible for instructing UCSD students, non-UC students, staff and faculty in non-credit classes and/or one-day workshops. Working knowledge of program activity practices and procedures. Ability and willingness to adhere to health and safety codes. Verbal and written communication skills in the English language, active listening, critical thinking, multi-tasking, time management skills, and dynamic flexibility in adapting to the needs of clients. Good communication skills with individuals of all ages and varying backgrounds. Ability to speak before large and small groups with poise and enthusiasm. Ability to exercise independent sound judgment and employ reasoning skills. Client service minded, entrepreneurial spirit and creative thinking skills. Basic skills in computer programs relevant to job duties. Knowledge of campus policies and procedures. Knowledge of safety precautions needed and ability to ensure compliance/adherence by all class members. Possession of current, valid certifications needed to teach the activity specified. Prior experience teaching/leading the specified discipline. Ability to teach/lead the specified discipline to a diverse group of individuals. Ability to create programs geared to individual and group needs. Special Conditions
Job offer is contingent upon satisfactory clearance based on Background Check results. Occasional evenings and weekends may be required. Pay and employment details
Base pay range: $25.00/hr - $40.00/hr Payroll Title : RECR PRG INSTR 2 Department : VCSA CRAFT CENTER Worksite : Campus Appointment Type : Limited Appointment Appointment Percent : 25% Variab Total Openings : 30 Work Schedule : Variable, 8 hrs/day, TBD Filing Deadline : Thu 9/25/2025 Location : UC San Diego values equity, diversity, and inclusion. Under the general supervision of the UCSD Crafts Center Manager, the Craft Center Program Instructor is responsible to instruct UCSD students, Non-UC students, staff & faculty members on non-credit classes and/or one-day workshops.
