Overview
Genesys is hiring a Sr. Account Executive for the State & Local Government market. This senior sales role focuses on driving revenue growth and adoption among existing accounts while securing net new customer business. You will arrive with MEDDPICC, prospecting, market and territory development, mutual action plans, and a propensity for action, and you will build a deep business and technical network in the industry. Key Responsibilities
Drive revenue, market share, and exceed new pipeline targets in your defined geographic region. Lead and manage active sales opportunities with the Genesys Way of Selling (MEDDPICC). Understand acquisition and procurement rules and processes to guide new customers through buying. Accurately forecast and exceed monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue targets. Build and evolve Territory Plans to align with Genesys’ strategic direction and develop a robust sales pipeline. Collaborate with Genesys Partners (VARs, Integrators, AppFoundry, Carrier) to raise awareness and manage opportunities. Coordinate with internal teams (Business Development, Field Marketing, Channel, Healthcare) to support regional revenue growth. Present a compelling business value proposition with strong written and verbal communication. Understand customer business and technical requirements to shape product direction. Collaborate with internal partners (legal and finance) to manage complex contract negotiations. Prepare and deliver business reviews to senior management on quarterly and yearly strategies. Accelerate customer adoption and ensure satisfaction in partnership with Customer Success Managers. Position the business value of Genesys’ Digital and AI portfolio. Research customer missions and priorities to align initiatives with Genesys capabilities and differentiate our offerings. Minimum Requirements
8+ years of field enterprise sales and/or business development experience with a focus on State & Local Government AI, enterprise software, networking, infrastructure, CX, and/or cloud services. Understanding of State & Local Government procurement and funding in direct and indirect models. BA/BS degree or equivalent experience. Proficiency with enterprise platforms (Salesforce, Clari or similar, Zoom, and tools such as ZoomInfo, DocuSign, Workday, Tableau). Demonstrated proficiency with MEDDPICC, Account Strategy Mapping, and Opportunity Plans. Must be based in region with ability to travel at least 25% as needed. Desirable Skills
Technical sales background in CX, CCaaS, UCaaS, APIs, infrastructure, AI, telecom, cybersecurity, etc. History of consistently exceeding sales quota. Experience selling to various public sector agencies. Documented industry and customer network. Compensation
This role has a market-competitive salary with an anticipated base compensation range listed below. Actual salaries vary by experience, qualifications, skills, and location. The role may be eligible for commission or performance-based bonus opportunities. $103,100.00 - $191,500.00 Benefits
