Qualifications for employment at Church at the Cross include a life commitment to Jesus Christ, a written agreement with the Beliefs and Governance statements of Church at the Cross, and a work history and lifestyle consistent with biblical principles. Must be an existing memberof Church at the Cross or willing to become one.
The Executive Pastor and his family (if applicable) are expected to be Jesus-centered with a vibrant and growing relationship with Christ and to be deeplyimmersed in the community life of Church at the Cross. The Executive Pastormust meet the qualifications of an Elder in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
Job Description:
The Executive Pastor will oversee all aspects of the church’s ministry execution, including building teams, staff development,overseeing ministry budgets, and developing annual plans.

General Duties and Responsibilities – Strategy and Planning
Help guide ministry philosophy and strategy
Assist in the high-level organizational architecture of the church, staff, and ministries
Assist in the creation of language, both written and oral, to communicate vision
Assist in aligning church resources to the execution of ministry strategy
Encourage and ensure healthy collaboration between ministries
Work with Ministry Leads on various initiatives
Meet regularly with Elders for prayer, communication, and oversight
Lead the Executive Staff meetings dealing with the day-to-day operations of ministries, church-wide issues and opportunities, and encouragement
Regularly meet with Ministry Leads on an individual basis to provide accountability and cover more tactical and logistical issues to ensure excellent execution of ministry
Create/review ministry proposals
Assess ministry effectiveness along with Elders and Executive Staff
General Duties and Responsibilities –PersonnelDevelopment
Establish consistency between gospel-centered mission and gospel-centered work environment
Maintain accessibility to the staff to provide care, love, direction, and oversight
Lead out in staff development through retreats and individual growth opportunities/plans
Assist with staff communication to provide pertinent information and reinforce a culture of remembrance and celebration
Support monthly staff worship and luncheon celebrations
Work with staff members to develop gifting and self-awareness
Lead and develop leaders
Serve various ministries by speaking to their leadership or participating in their ministry, etc.
Serve as an advocate for the staff
General Duties and Responsibilities – Administration
Faithfully maintain CATC employee guidelines and standards
Perform various administrative duties
Maintain financial integrity and budgetary responsibility, and lead Ministry Leads to do so as well
Attend required staff events
Lead team through annual planning exercise
Lead team through annual personnel reviews and quarterly check-ins
Act as the team’s advocate in Lead Team meetings (twice monthly)
Perform various duties as assigned
