Address Tucson, AZ USA Position Highlights The John and Doris Norton School of Human Ecology seeks a Limited Term Adjunct Lecturer to teach traditional and online courses in the Retailing and Consumer Science program (RCSC). This position involves course development and teaching within the main campus RCSC program at The University of Arizona. Teaching delivery modalities include in person, hybrid (i.e., mix of in person and online) and fully online. The schedule of RCSC courses to be taught will be dependent upon course assignments which can change from semester to semester. Expected teaching load is one to two courses during the fall semester. The open position is non-tenure eligible.

Duties & Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to do the following:
Teach one or more of the following courses for the fall 2025 semester with potential opportunity for subsequent semesters (based on existing syllabi and learning objectives) RCSC205 – Merchandise Planning and Control RCSC240 – Consumer Behavior RCSC260 – Shopper Data and Business Information RCSC330 – Food Retailing Courses will be delivered via a variety of methods including face-to-face/in-person, fully online, and hybrid delivery. Participate in retailing and consumer science faculty meetings as requested by the Director.
Minimum Qualifications
At a minimum, the successful candidate will possess the following:
Master’s degree in retailing, business, marketing or other related discipline. Five years or more of industry experience in retailing, business, or other related discipline with progressively increasing responsibilities and/or training of personnel or significant teaching and student-mentoring experience in traditional classroom settings at a college or university level. Experience withinspiring, engaging, and motivating students/colleagues in their academic and/or professional journey.
Preferred Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally possess one or more of the following:
Strategic experience (five years or more with progressively increasing responsibilities) in a retail or business setting which may include strategic decision-making responsibility, store/operations management, marketing, product development, merchandising, or others. Demonstrated experience at designing and delivering university-level instruction in an engaging manner using student-centered learning strategies. Examples of such strategies include promotion of student engagement in and out-of-class, shared responsibility of instruction, creation of inquiry-based/discovery-oriented curriculum, and encouragement of a community of learning. Strong experience in instructional design and delivery.
